As some of you may or may not be aware, I release my FX Weekly Analysis every Saturday afternoon on my blog, Financial Trading Journal. I’ve been doing this for nearly 2 years now. You can access them here: http://www.FXWeeklyAnalysis.com.

As some of you may have noticed, I haven’t released any videos since Feb 5th. I could cite various reasons for this being the case but I’ll just stick to one. This was primarily due to my (local) consulting business getting too busy.

The business itself was fairly profitable, the only problem was that it took up too much time & energy. I consulted for about 20-30 hours every week and I actually had to travel to my client’s location to do the consulting, so commuting was a burden as well.

Furthermore, the opportunity cost of running a consulting business was getting too high. I would much rather spend my time developing online ventures or trading than to do local consulting. As such, I decided to close the consulting business (effective April 30th, 2013).

Aside: a high opportunity cost implies that I can make more money elsewhere

Since I no longer have consulting obligations, I’d like to announce that video production will commence soon! You can expect to see new videos start rolling out within a few weeks. If not in the latter half of May, then for sure in June. I hope to produce at least 1 new video every week once I get the ball rolling.

Recently, I’ve been getting emails from people asking if I ever plan to turn FTS into a paid membership site. I can adamantly state that, this will never happen. The sole purpose of FTS always has been and always will be: to reduce the information gap between new traders and the world of finance. A price tag would go against the purpose of FTS since it increases the gap instead of reduce it.

Just wanted to give an update regarding the Forex (FX) series.

As per my Nov 16th update video, I said I had to take a break till Dec 17th to tutor my students because they have their final exam this afternoon 2 – 5 PM.

Now that tutoring is over, I’m back into my “making videos” mindset. I have all the scripts/ideas written out for the first 4 videos of the FX series. All I have to do now is turn the scripts into power point lectures, which is often the hardest part due to having to make the content “flow” properly.

The scripts range between 3 to 8 pages double spaced and took about 2 – 4 hours to write up. Converting the scripts to power point format will take another 2 – 4 hours. Then comes recording / editing / rendering, which is another 2 – 3 hours.

Forex as you’ll notice later on in the series when I get into actual trading methods, takes longer to explain compared to binary options. Forex requires entry via various order types, then you have exit via stop loss and take profit orders. Compared to binary options, which was simply “here’s an entry point, pick the appropriate expiry, done.”

Aside from the lengthy process, I’m still trying to find a broker to promote in (or sponsor) the FX series. Most of the regulated brokers that I’ve used (namely Oanda) do not offer affiliate programs. So I can’t monetize my videos with them.

I’m currently working on the FX101 power point and I’m almost done but won’t release it till I find a sponsor. I will continue to work on the rest of the FX100 series lessons in the meantime. So I anticipate that the official release date for the FX series will be on Christmas (Dec 25th) or on New Years (Jan 1st).
